NATIONAL ROLLER COASTER MUSEUM UNVEILS NEW ORGANIZATION LOGO

(ORLANDO, Florida) - The National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives (NRCMA) unveiled their new organization logo during the annual International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Trade Show. Board Members of the organization at their trade show booth unveiled it.

The multi-color logo, designed by Corporate Graphics of Arlington, Texas, visually tells the observer that this logo is all about the king of most amusement park midways, the roller coaster. This graphic image, with heavy emphasis on the name, offers immediate brand identity for the soon-to-be-built national museum.

The logo incorporates motion and balance, highlighting prominent features of both a classic wooden and modern steel roller coaster. The strong symmetrical design shows the lift hill structure of a wooden roller coaster containing a graceful fan turn in the background, while twin loops of a steel coaster are seen just below a cloud in the foreground. The central loop contains three stars as part of the name graphic. Even the lettering is stylized; depicting the effect of motion: smooth and flowing, much like a roller coaster ride. Four colors are prominently featured in the logo: dark and light blue, green and fuchsia showing the "fun" aspect of this amusement park ride staple.

Ted Davidson, President/Owner of Corporate Graphics explained the reason behind the design: "The design objective was to create a high-recognition logo utilizing both a conventional wooden coaster and a contemporary steel coaster. The cloud obviously emphasizes height. The words "ROLLER COASTER" are given a high/low track treatment. The entire design harkens back to the old movie theater exploitation treatments to compliment the historical museum product." The company has also designed logos for The Texas Rangers, Six Flags Theme Parks, American Airlines and IBM, to name a few.

The National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives will be the first facility of its kind in the world to display historical and entertaining roller coaster exhibits, photographs, models, actual rolling stock and other memorabilia, in an exclusive setting. The museum space will include a gift shop, multi-function theater and restoration area. A research library will serve as a clearinghouse for a growing collection of archival materials. The museum will be designed to promote the historical aspect of the industry, while providing researchers and enthusiastís space for the studying and cataloguing of historical items regarding roller coasters, past and present.

The National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives is on the brink of what will be one of the most significant contributions to pop culture and American history - the establishment of a permanent roller coaster museum.
